I am grateful for my parents who have raised me and all of my siblings in a loving atmosphere. I am grateful for parents who taught me to love God from an early age. I am thankful that they trusted me to make the right choices as I grew up. I am grateful that they have helped me comprehend the love that our Father in Heaven has not only for me but for everyone that has every lived, even though it may be a beginners understanding.
I am grateful for my nieces and nephews who remind me what it means to love everyone and be like a child again. I am thankful that through them I have been able to better understand the Savior's teaching to become as a little child. I am grateful for their never ending love for everyone and everything. Little children truly are an amazing example!
I am thankful for the opportunity I have had and will have to get a good education. I am grateful that I was able to go to a good high school and have many great teachers help me learn new things. I am thankful that I am able to learn and retain in remembrance the things that I am taught in school. I am thankful that I was able to go to a year of college, for the opportunity to gain a higher education and further my understanding and learning about the world and how it works. I am thankful that I was born in such a time and place where a good education is so readily available an obtainable. What a great blessing that is!
I am grateful for modern technology. I am thankful for the opportunity we all have to communicate so quickly and so easily with friends and family all around the world! Sometimes it does present a slight challenge to have so much technology but to me it truly is a miracle to be able to, through some magic of wiring, be able to have a face to face conversation from someone on the other side of the world! I am very grateful for that! I am especially grateful for this miracle with the mission I am serving in. Modern technology makes sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ easier than ever before! All it takes is a few strokes of the keys and clicks of the mouse and the gospel of Jesus Christ can spread all over the world! I am truly thankful for that great blessing.
I am grateful for the simple blessing of buildings. I am thankful for the comfort it is to live in a building that is protected from nature, to be able to live comfortably regardless of what the weather is like outside. Whether it is below freezing or blazing hot or if there is a downpour, it is a wonderful blessing to live in buildings that are engineered so well so as to keep everyone safe from whatever nature throws at us. I think for me personally, that is one of the greatest blessings that I often overlook. It is something that is so common that I rarely even think about how great a blessing that is. I am thankful for nice buildings!
I am thankful for having so much food so readily available. I know that in many countries, good clean food is scarce and hard to come by. But all my life I have been blessed to have food whenever I am hungry and am able to fill that hunger. I am grateful that my family has always had enough money to be able to provide food for me and all of my siblings. Food is one of my favorite things in life so I am very grateful for always having it so readily available in my life.
My list could go on and on for a long time but I don't want this post to be very long. So I will wrap it up with some of the things that I am most grateful for. I am extremely grateful for a loving God. I am grateful that we all have a Father in Heaven who always watches out for us and will help us when we ask. I am grateful that He trusts us enough to have us come down here to earth to gain new experiences and understanding. I am grateful that He has, in these days, restored His gospel and made it available to almost everyone on the earth. I am thankful that He has established a plan for us. I am grateful for this plan which teaches us how we can return to live with God and our families again. I as especially that God has given us so many wonderful gifts in our lives, the greatest of which being His Son.
I am grateful for Jesus Christ. I am thankful that He lived a perfect life and set a perfect example for us all. Because of what He did, and not without that, is returning to live with God even a possibility. I am grateful that He was selfless enough to sacrifice His own desires and wants for the benefit of mankind as a whole. I am grateful that He loves all of us enough to lay down His life so that we can feel God's love for us whenever we repent and turn back to Him. I am immensely grateful for the Atonement and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Without Him we would be nothing.
Look around you. What do you have that you see or use or enjoy every day without thinking much about. What are you thankful for on this day?
